Young Virgin Auto-Sodomized by the Horns of Her Own Chastity is a 1954 oil on canvas painting by Salvador Dali, measuring about 40.5 by 30.5 centimeters. The surrealist composition shows a young female figure whose body is built from rhinoceros horns, a motif Dali returned to often in his work of the 1950s, creating a paradox in which the horns both form and seem to threaten the figure they compose. Dali drew the painting's converging curves from Johannes Vermeer's The Lacemaker, and in 1958 he described the finished work, despite its provocative title, as among the most chaste of his paintings. It passed through the collection of Playboy Enterprises before selling at Sotheby's in London in 2003 for 1.35 million pounds, and it remains in a private collection in Paris.
